Psychology services

As a therapist it is our job to hold space and guide you through your journey with empathy and without judgement. A number of different therapy modalities are used by our therapists. Our goal is to help you understand and overcome whatever is getting in the way of you living the life you want to live and being the person you want to be.
We have experience across a range of ages and presentations. If we can't help you then we will help you find someone who can because our goal is to support you reach your NDIS goals. We have a lot of experience working with NDIS participants to support them in reaching their goals.
Another area of interest is helping individuals overcome trauma through the use of Eye Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR). EMDR is a highly effective method of reducing the distress and impact of the experience of a traumatic event. Whether the trauma is acute, chronic, or complex we can help you on your journey to recovery.

She doesn't like to write about herself but she does love cats, like a lot.

Please note that despite the photos Karolina and Niki are not balloon people

Sasha

Fluffy cat

Sasha is a part time staff member who honestly does very little to earn her wages. She is however very pretty and most people love her so her job is secure for now. If you are allergic to cats please be aware that there may be a cat or just piles of her fur in the office

PIxie

Chunky cat

Pixie is a little ball of chonk who generally loves to just sit on the lounge with Karolina's clients and make their days a little brighter. She does slightly more than Sasha to earn her wages but leaves an equal amount of fur everywhere.

Assessments

We have made the decision to not undertake formal standardised assessments for things such as ADHD or autism. There are many practices that focus solely on doing assessments for report purposes and we wold highly recommend finding a good neuropsychologist in your area if this is your goal.
In our practice we have decided to focus on treatment of our clients. Through our training and experience as psychologists we do have a good understanding of these types of presentations and we gather information during our sessions to form a clinical opinion on the likelihood of someone meeting the diagnostic criteria for a mental health disorder.  We discuss this with you along the way and if at some point you would like to pursue a formal diagnosis or medication we will be happy to provide a summary letter to your GP  so they can refer you to the appropriate professional for a confirmation of diagnosis once we have been able to gather enough information during our sessions.
Please contact us to discuss your assessment needs if you have any questions.
